Introduction to Delivery Method Display Rules

Delivery Method Display Rules let you control which delivery methods appear to customers during checkout for single-address orders.

Instead of showing every available delivery method (e.g., shipping rate, delivery rate, or pickup option), you can create rules to hide or rename methods based on specific conditions.

Note: This feature is available on Giftship’s Plus plan or higher. Multiship is not currently compatible with custom Delivery Method Display Rules.

Example Scenario
When a customer selects a date in the Giftship date picker block, Giftship compares that date against your Delivery Method Display Rules. This applies whether the date is obtained at the product level or the cart level (recommended) for single-address orders.

For example:

  • If the chosen date is fewer than 3 days away, hide Standard Shipping.
  • If the chosen date is more than 7 days away, rename Express Shipping to Pre-Scheduled Delivery.

Checkout methods will then update automatically, only showing delivery options that meet your conditions. This ensures customers see options that align with your fulfillment timelines and delivery schedules.

Other Configurations

Beyond controlling delivery methods by date, you can also show or hide methods based on:

  • Customer spend amount
  • Number of past orders
  • Company name

What You Can’t Do

  • You cannot show or hide date picker blocks based on the selected shipping method.
  • Delivery Method Display Rules only run at checkout for single-address orders.
  • Not currently compatible with multi-address orders (e.g., Multiship).
