Configuring Multi-Product Upsells

Adding an Upsell Product

The one-click upsell pulls from your current list of products. If you want to add an upsell for an item that isn’t currently a product, such as $5 for gift wrapping, or $2 to add a gift note, you will first need to create this new product. And if you only want it to display as an upsell and nowhere else, you will need to create a collection. Here are some instructions on how to do so (if you already have your product set-up, please skip to next section):

Creating a New Collection

Go to Collections from your Shopify home page.

Click “Create collection”.

Add a new name, such as Upsells, set the Collection Type to Manual, and hit Save.

Creating a New Product

Go to Products from your Shopify home page. 

Select “Add Product” 

Set up your product by adding a name, an image, and a price. 

Don’t forget to assign the newly created product to a Collection.

Setting Up your Multi-Product Upsell

Now that you have your Multi-Product Upsell product ready to go, we can turn it on in the Giftship dashboard.

In your Shopify dashboard, go to Apps –> Giftship –> Edit Settings –> Upsells.

Next, “Enable” the Product Upsells. Click “New Upsell”, then choose the products you would like to assign to it and whether you would like the Upsell to appear when any product, a product from a certain category, or a specific product is added to the cart.

Click “Save” and you’re ready to go!
